Lisa Hickox

Brooklyn-based music producer Lisa Hickox is a pop polymath who makes marketable tracks that run the stylistic gamut from high-gloss Top 40 bangers to raw, urgent indie rock. Between her consummate skill-set, unflagging work ethic, and easygoing personality, she has become an in-demand collaborator on both coasts of the music production scene.

When Lisa was 12 years old, she discovered The Pixies and Green Day, and the power of rock galvanized her to pick up guitar and pen songs. Throughout her teens, she was a fixture of local rock groups, jazz ensembles, and pit orchestras in her native Bay Area. While studying jazz guitar and counterpoint at Berklee College of Music, she further developed the knowledge, chops, and perspective that she brings to the creative process today.

Counting producers, George Martin (The Beatles) and Max Martin (Britney Spears) as her two greatest influences, Lisa takes as much inspiration from the pop canon as she does from the cutting-edge output of today's Top 40 super-producers. Adept at conjuring classic, earthy, analog sounds, she also meticulously sculpts radio-ready digital ear candy. Her songwriting is likewise grounded in tried-and-tested elements like big choruses, clever lyrical concepts, and unexpected chord progressions, while her finger remains on the pulse of ever-evolving song forms.

Lisa creates out of her home studio in Bushwick, where hospitality and the presence of her two elderly miniature Dachshunds set a congenial, quirky tone for visiting collaborators. She also works remotely with a number of top-line writers and licensing companies. Between her facility with different genres, wide-ranging musicianship, technical expertise, and metabolism for what's trending right this instant, Lisa Hickox is a producer on the rise.
